Clay’s 2024 CFB Week 6 Picks

This week’s slate is rough to say the least.

I have also preached/teached 4 different talks in 4 wildly different environments this week. Long story short, this brain is content shot. However, I still want to keep writing my picks. So let’s rapid fire a bunch of one sentence picks with no edits so I can go to bed.

SMU (4-1) at No. 22 Louisville (-6.5), Noon, ESPN

While SMU lives in the land of the extremes, Jeff Brohm doesn’t.

Pick: Louisville -6.5

No. 9 Missouri at No. 25 Texas A&M (-2.5), Noon, ABC

Missouri’s performances against P4 teams have been lacking, they can’t afford that kind of performance against A&M.

Pick: Texas A&M -2.5

No. 12 Ole Miss (-8.5) at South Carolina, 3:30 p.m., ESPN

Last week was a wake up call for Ole Miss.

Pick: Ole Miss -8.5

Iowa (3-1) at No. 3 Ohio State (4-0), 3:30 p.m., CBS

Iowa mucks it up juuuuuuuuuust enough against Walker Howard to cover, but the game won’t be close.

Pick: Iowa +19.5

Rutgers at Nebraska (-7), 4 p.m., FS1

This feels like the same script as Iowa vs. Ohio State.

Pick: Rutgers +7

No. 4 Tennessee (-13.5) at Arkansas (3-2), 7:30 p.m., ABC

Tennessee could be caught in a look ahead situation, but coming off of a bye helps.

Pick: Tennessee -13.5

No. 10 Michigan at Washington (-1.5), 7:30 p.m., NBC

I don’t trust teams that can’t throw at a loud road environment.

Pick: Washington -1.5

UCF (-2.5) at Florida, 7:45 p.m., SEC Network

Napier is coaching for his life.

Pick: Florida +2.5

No. 8 Miami (-10.5) at Cal, 10:30 p.m., ESPN

ACC after dark… enough said.

Pick: Cal +10.5

Texas Tech at Arizona (-6.5), 11 p.m., Fox

Big 12 after dark… enough said.

Pick: Texas Tech +6.5
